Tribute & Message From The Family

Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt

Margaret "Peggy" Battista, age 78, of Newtown Square, PA, daughter of the late George J. and Margaret A. (nee McCrosson) Bates, dear sister of the late Patricia "Patsy" Febbo

Peggy began her career in the communication industry with Bell of Pennsylvania, rose to the position of sales representative, and then moved into a management position in the Business Office at AT&T. After retirement, she enjoyed treasure-hunting at flea markets and thrift shops. Because she also liked to shop-from-home, Peggy's family benefited from the many useful items she bought. She loved spending time with her family and friends, tending her plants, and knitting beautiful afghans. She liked to watch cooking shows and share the techniques she learned. She enjoyed reading a good mystery. Peggy loved the trips she took to different parts of the country and the world. Although she was small, she was smart and sassy and hilarious. She was raised to live life with a sense of humor as did all her Irish relatives. Her family describes her as generous, kind, and appreciative. People like Peggy make the world brighter.

Peggy is survived by her devoted daughter, Maria Rizzo; beloved grandson, Daniel J. D'Ancona; dear nieces and nephews: Anthony Febbo (Anita), Christine Febbo-Kadelski (Michael), Theresa Mulloy (Chuck), and Matthew Febbo (Jean), her life-long companion and brother-in-law, Thomas "Tom" Febbo, 16 great-nieces and nephews, and many adored cousins.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Viewing on Saturday, June 20, 2020, 9:30AM -10:15 AM with Mass to follow at 10:30 AM (ALL IN CHURCH) at St. Thomas the Apostle 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Peggy's name may be made to the USO P.O. 96860 Washington D.C. 20077-7677 OR would be appreciated

Condolence & Memory Journal

Peggy and I met in the 70's at Bell of Pennsylvania. And our friendship endured, when Peggy went to AT&T. We shared so many laughs, and there was never a lack of conversation. I will miss Peggy. But will remember all of our memories. I will miss our endless telephone calls. I was blessed to call her Friend. Prayers to Marie and Daniel.
